If you remove priority from your project configuration the project tab panel links ( https://jira/browse/ATLPROJECT#selectedTab=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project%3Aissues-panel ) will cease to function as they look something like:

https://jira/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&jqlQuery=project+%3D+ATLPROJECT+AND+resolution+%3D+Unresolved+AND+assignee+%3D+mcollins+ORDER+BY+priority+DESC&mode=hide
