    Description

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      When adding a link from an external web page to a JQL search, like for example:

      http://myserver:8080/secure/IssueNavigator!executeAdvanced.jspa?runQuery=true&clear=true&jqlQuery=resolution=unresolved+AND+category!="IT+Department"

      It works great, except if the users are not logged in. In this case, they just see this search error:

      Field 'resolution' does not exist.

      To business users it is not obvious why the query is giving them an error. They get confused and require training to make sure they know that this really means "click Log In and it should then show the correct result".

      The request is to redirect them to the login screen in cases like this, as it does in some other places. Or a better text would help a lot, something like:

      You are not logged in. If you were logged in, you might be able to view more fields.
