Please add the ability to MERGE or APPEND when doing a Bulk Issue change and editing labels.
For example,
If I am working with a list of JIRA tickets that have 3 different labels and I want to add the label: peter_filias, it will remove all 3 labels and add peter_filias. I'd like to have the ability to do a BULK ADD of a label, for example.
I'd also like to have the ability to MOVE where the label field shows up when I am working with filters. I currently have to scroll halfway down my page to find the label field. It would be very helpful if you could customize the filter creation/editing order of elements in the left column.

added a comment - It's not compatible 'but use at your own risk' (which I won't do - 1300 users, 230 projects,..). So the request is now for Atlassian to create something like this.

added a comment - The newly released (and free) HP/Palm Jira Issue Move Enhancements Plugin can merge and append or insert and delete individual labels during Bulk Edit as this issues suggests. The enhancement works for both the system Labels field and all labels custom fields.

added a comment - We recently got hammered because of this. We did NOT realize that bulk-updating will remove other labels. So, when we updated 80+ tickets to add a label to them, it REMOVED several other various labels -YIKES! We quickly got hate mail from our users who got the update emails showing their tickets had the labels removed. Some of them had used the labels as a way of tagging tickets for engineering to work on for specific projects. There are several very undiplomatic expletives which were shouted around our office regarding JIRA at that point. To fix it required several hours of digging and hand-updating of tickets. Arg. Needless to say, I'll be adding a very big VOTE to this ticket!

I'm closing this as it's mostly a duplicate of
JRA-24118. That issue has much more votes for bulk editing labels so we'll keep that one open.Also I believe the second part of the request no longer applies in the new issue navigator view.
