      Atlassian Update - 22 April 2015

      Hi everyone,

Thanks for voting and commenting on this issue. Your input in the comments helps us understand how this affects you and what you're hoping to accomplish with JIRA.

At this time, this suggestion is not on the JIRA development roadmap. However, there is a free add-on on the Marketplace with this functionality: Bulk Move Subtasks JIRA Add-on.

Please remember that jira.atlassian.com is one of many inputs for the JIRA roadmap. You can learn more about our process here.

I understand that our decision may be disappointing. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Currently it's not possible to perform a bulk operation on a bunch of sub-tasks to move them to a new parent. This is rather annoying when splitting subtasks off from one task to another (e.g. from a "miscellaneous" task to a specific task once a set of sub-tasks gets large).

It would be great to be able to change the parents of any sub-tasks in a group when a move operation is specified. This seems to make sense anyways and would also allow moving subtasks (along with regular tasks!) to a new project if the new parent task was in the new project.

I have a couple of tasks with 50 tasks each, and I need to move all of them to a new parent task.

            +1 to this

Bulk Move Subtasks JIRA Add-on is no longer free add-on.

Please reconsider including this feature natively in JIRA.

I had plenty of time to vote for this even while moving 20 tasks between parents.--

We agree that man hours saved by allowing bulk moves as part of the native functionality would be quite significant. We use JIRA in a regulated environment as I am sure many other companies do. Any time a plug in is installed or a software upgrade takes place, many hours are spent validating the software.

Many times we need to reorganize things and move many sub-tickets to another parent. This consumed up until now around 20 human hours that could be saved if such a feature was exist. Tnx.

We need this frequently for descoping a story, otherwise we are creating stories that are actually blocks of tasks.

That feature would also be very valuable for us! +1

We use a hosted instance - so this plug-in won't work.

Please dmyer@atlassian.com , @Atlassian - please return the lost functionality that allowed the moving of subtasks in bulk from one Parent to another Parent via the Classic Board (where we could drag & drop) from parent ticket to parent ticket.

All we need is the option to "bulk move" to a different Parent vs. having to do it one by one by one by one

You took away a valuable, time-saving, efficiency when you took away this Classic Board-specfic functionality

yes please! bulk moving of sub-tasks while changing parents is definitely needed!

Also, I really need to be able to move sub-tasks to parents in other projects...
