please provide the ability to sort columns in the gadgets e.g. if I choose the filter "Filter Results" gadget and choose only some of the columns to be displayed - the gadget will display the columns in alphabetical order and not as I want them - Key for example is after assignee

            Hi,
We bought 2 years ago the plugin "JIRA Show Saved Filter with Columns Plugin" it cost $200 USD. It works with 4.2.
Our dashboards couldn't funtion as well without this plugin

            Hi.
Do you know any workaround to display selected columns in desired order?
            thanks

I agree with finding a resolution to this. I am trying to create a dashboard with only selected columns from filter results.

I find it hard to believe that everyone would not want and need this bug fix in JIRA. Most of the useful dashboard in our case are filter lists displayed via gadgets. And the type of data and order of data makes a difference in how efficiently the data can be used by people.

This may be reflected as a new feature, but in my view this is necessary bug for the very next update.

I also want to add that it would be very nice if this could be fixed for 4.0.3 and not just 4.1.2 since we will probably not upgrade due to the problems with 4.1.x such as the new layout.

I agree. Being able to display the columns in the order you choose and not alphabetically is essential.

This is a duplicate of JRA-19083, right?

I agree - there isn't much point to selecting your own columns if the order gets messed up. All I want is to add one or two columns to the default, but even the default columns get reordered once you do a custom selection.
EDIT: I just realized you can select 'default' and then add columns which will appear after that; I still think being able to order them is important but this is a great improvement over how I thought it was working.

Yes this has made our dashboard very very ugly

I completely agree. Without this functionality, being able to choose your columns is extremely pointless.

Please allow us to specify the order the selected columns are shown in.

I'd recommend something like the following:

            Available Columns Selected Columns
            +-----------------+ +-----------------+
            | Activity | | Issue Key |
            |  Assignee       |  -->  |  Summary        |
            | Component | <-- | Priority |
            | ... | | ... |
            +-----------------+ +-----------------+
                                       (Drag to reorder)
