I noticed that navigating back to the main screen for an issue is not very intuitive.

Given the importance of usabiltiy, I feel that we need to improve the ability to navigate back to main issue view, when viewing attachments (or other detailed view pages)

I am sure you can come up with a better way to improve this but one one possibility might be to link the issue summary back to the issue (main issue default screen).
