This will need to happen when users have:
- Shown/hidden a field in a field configuration scheme
- deleted a custom field option
- changed the scope of a custom field
- deleted a custom field
There may be others, we need to think this through.
The reason for this is that the index data will not be correct in these instances until the instance has been reindexed.
