As stock Jira doesnt permit 'auto-joining' of jira-users, we have a modified DefaultAuthenticator (careof JRA-11174) This works around having to manually register individual users.

With Trusted applications, requests dont go through that route, so either we have to customize the TrustFilter as well or Jira can implement a global feature to 'auto register' users if they don't exist!

If the system is configured to use LDAP, extra information about the user (e-mail and fullname) can be retrieved from LDAP.
