When you have lots of plugins putting tabs on the browse project screen, the reports/filters panel gets pushed off the page. See attached screenshot. Not 100% sure how this should/could be addressed, maybe allow them to span multiple rows? But I do think that "Select" text is taking too much real estate, and it's kinda insulting me as well, I've been using computers for years, and by now I've actually worked out that clicking on a tab selects it, it doesn't need to tell me that.
