      Some request can take up to 10 seconds pegging out the processor.

      If I had to guess to what the problem is I would suggest it has something to do with the qrtz scheduler. In RC2 it never created the tables becuase of JRA-1312. I would think that the qrtz scheduler never started in RC2. However it did start in RC3.
