Filter sharing does not currently allow you to share with a role.

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Currently you can share a filter with a:

      1. No one
      2. Everyone
      3. A Group

It would be good to be able to share it with a role.

I see the implementation for this being:

      1. If the filter has projects selected, the user would need to be in a role for ALL of these projects. You don't want this person being able to even see issues (possibly via a subscription) of other projects.
      2. If no projects are selected I guess you would need to constrain the filter to a subset of projects for the Project Role the user is a member of.
