Provide an honest way to dismiss promotional / recommendation cards across Jira

      Summary

Add a neutral, honest dismiss option to the in-app promotional / recommendation cards shown across Jira (for example the cross-join nudge cards in the left navigation). Today these cards expose an overflow ("...") menu whose only options are "Not interested" and "Why am I seeing this?". Neither option fits a user who is interested in the promoted item, who has already acted on it, or who simply wants to reclaim the space. Because this wording is used consistently across these cards, the gap applies to all of them, not just one placement.

      Where this appears

      • In-app promotional / recommendation cards within Jira, including the left navigation (for example at the bottom of the left nav, below the spaces section).
      • These cards share a common overflow ("...") menu pattern offering only "Not interested" and "Why am I seeing this?".

      Problem

      • The dismiss options do not honestly reflect the intent of an engaged user. Someone who is genuinely interested, or who has already completed the promoted action, has no truthful way to close the card. Their only choices are "Not interested" (which is inaccurate for them) or "Why am I seeing this?" (an explanation, not a dismiss action).
      • The scope of the existing options is not communicated in the interface, so users cannot tell what clicking "Not interested" will do. This uncertainty is itself part of the poor experience.
      • A user who has already acted on the promotion (for example installed the CLI) may continue to see the card until targeting updates, with no clean, honest way to remove it in the meantime.
      • The result feels user hostile: to reclaim the space, the user must click an option that misrepresents their intent.

      Requested change

      • Primary: Add a neutral, honest dismiss control to these cards (for example a close "x" on the card, and/or a "Dismiss" or "Hide this" item in the overflow menu) that closes the card without requiring the user to state disinterest. Apply this consistently to all cards using the shared promo / recommendation pattern.
      • Optional: Offer an explicit "I have already done this" / "Already installed" option so a completed or positive state can be captured distinctly from disinterest.
      • Secondary: Where the platform can detect that the user has already completed the promoted action, stop showing that promo promptly so the card does not linger after conversion.
