      Atlassian Update - 15th of October  2024

      Hi everyone,

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through this issue. We understand how frustrating this is and apologise for the inconvenience.

While we work on a long-term solution, you can manually opt out of the following promotional experiences by reaching out to our support team:

      • App Switcher "Recommended for You" section
      • Promotional "Flag" popups
      • Full-screen promotional popups
      • Wide banner promotions
      • Other in-product promotional surfaces

If you're still seeing unwanted pop-ups, please share examples with us. Your feedback helps us prioritise and resolve this faster.
Feel free to comment, vote, and provide input as well as this is helpful.

Thanks again for your understanding and support!

Add the ability to disable Atlassian's advertisement pop-up in a site. (https://your-domain.atlassian.com)
Don't display this, especially to customers who have contracts.

This ad is displayed in the product(Jira, Confluence) and is very noisy for users.
It would be great if we can permanently stop advertising on the site.

      Workaround

If you are seeing unwanted notifications about Atlassian events we recommend creating a Support Ticket with us. We may not always be able to remove them but we can provide your feedback internally.

            Jira recommended apps

Company hub + confluence recommended apps

            (Teams) + Plans + Assets

Invitations to atlassian webinars, fairs and alike promotions

Ads for premium features like Automatisations, Atlassian AI, etc.

Atlassian Support gave me this hint, we'll see what it actually removes:

In order to turn off product recommendations you can follow the below steps:

            1. Access your site acme.atlassian.net
            2. Choose Settings (⛭) on top right corner >  System
            3. In the "General Configurations" section, scroll down all the way to the bottom and you will find an option named "Turn off product recommendations"
            4. Share your feedback in the box and Confirm the changes

Currently, not all the advertising on the site can be disabled, which means you may see some advertisements in the future. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

To opt out of early access:

            1. Go to your site's Administration at admin.atlassian.com. If you're an admin for multiple sites or an organization admin, click the site's name and URL to open the Administration for that site.
            2. Go to Settings from the top of the page.
            3. Select Platform experiences on the left-side menu.
            4. From the list on the page, find the site that you want to disable early access on.
            5. Select the “Opt out” button under the Actions column and follow the prompts.

Another frustration point in Confluence is the "You and X worked together in Jira" in-window pop-up.

I keep getting the same recommendation for a random person that I might have worked with a couple times in Jira many months ago. There is no way to permanently dismiss it (or even better disable this approach alltogether).

The Loom-ification of Confluence has quickly become a pain point for our team. People see the button, wonder what it does and click on it, and that action generates a notification to our team to enable Loom. Then we need to check with the user to find out what their exact intentions were (just curious or actually wanting to use Loom). If they are wanting to actually use it, then we need to have a conversation about their business requirements and ultimately end up pointing them to our company's standard tools that meet those needs.

Atlassian Sales and Product Teams - Please note that Admins have other jobs to do and we're not simply an extension of your sales org. Just because you can get the attention of end users for your new products with clever ads, doesn't mean that you should. When organizations pay at Premium+ subscription levels, you should be appreciative of the business and not actively make the product worse.

Today we got a loom camera icon on each confluence page. As a premium edition using company it's not fair!

On my phone I get free Apps with commercials built-in.

When I pay 2,99€ I get a commercial free App.

With Confluence I pay PREMIUM and get unwanted commercials sent to all users.

Atlassian did not even bother to ask.

            Stop it please.

FYI 3da86e3edff8 - we fellow customers/non-Atlassian employees aren't allowed to add attachments to tickets, so unfortunately we cannot see your screenshots.

If you upload/host the image elsewhere, and then switch to "Text mode" you can put a link to the image between exclamation marks !<link here>! it will be embedded, like so:

Here's an example of an unnecessary and annoying popup that clutters the viewable area WHILE I AM TYPING!
This popup is wholely not needed and could be moved to an 'as-needed' button in the quick-launch bar.  Please either make this a per-user option or a whole-site option to enable/disable.  thanks!
