When card covers are enabled, users must manually set a cover image on issues

      Issue Summary

      Previously, in Software team‑managed projects, the first image attached to an issue was automatically used as the card cover on boards.
      After a recent change that unified the cover behavior between company‑managed and team‑managed projects, this automatic behavior has been removed and users now have to manually select a cover image.

      For some customers, this change results in a clear functionality regression in their existing business workflows.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a Software team‑managed project.
      2. In the board settings, turn on the card cover setting (cover toggle).
      3. On the board, create a new issue and attach an image file to the issue.
      4. Check the issue card on the board.

      Expected Results

      • The first image attached to the issue is automatically used as the card cover on the board.

      Actual Results

      • The first attached image is not automatically used as the card cover.
      • The user has to manually select and set a cover image.

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
