We have identified an inconsistency in Jira Cloud dashboards regarding label formatting compared to individual work items. Specifically, dashboard gadgets that group by label—such as the Pie Chart—now treat labels as case-insensitive and display them exclusively in lowercase (e.g., a label entered as TestLabelABC appears as testlabelabc in the gadget). This change was introduced with recent updates to Jira Cloud’s search infrastructure to improve consistency and reliability in label aggregation and reporting.

However, this has resulted in a confusing user experience: while labels maintain their original casing on individual work items, they are always shown in lowercase on dashboards.

Resolve this inconsistency by ensuring label display is case-insensitive and consistent across all Jira Cloud experiences, including both dashboards and work items.
