Actual Results:
The recent update to Jira Cloud has introduced a new font, Atlassian Sans, which has been met with dissatisfaction from some users. The primary concern is that the font's design, particularly the similarity between lowercase letters 'a' and 'o', hampers readability. This issue is especially pronounced for technical teams who rely on quick parsing of tickets and pages. As a result, some users have resorted to blocking remote fonts in their browsers to avoid using Atlassian Sans, and are considering alternative products due to this inconvenience.
Expected Results:
Users should have the ability to choose from a selection of fonts within Jira Cloud, allowing site administrators to select the most suitable font for their team's needs. This customization would enhance readability and user satisfaction by accommodating diverse preferences and use cases. Ideally, there should be an option to revert to the previous font or select from a range of fonts that better suit technical documentation and international teams.
Workaround:
Currently, users are blocking remote fonts in their browsers as a temporary solution to prevent the usage of Atlassian Sans. However, this is not an ideal long-term fix. A more comprehensive workaround will be posted here when available.
