Issue Summary
Users are experiencing issues when attempting to edit the issue type context for custom fields in Jira using Google Chrome. The problem does not occur in other browsers like Safari, indicating a potential browser-specific issue.
This issue appears to be occurring in recent Chrome versions starting with version 136. For example:
- 136.0.7103.48 (Official Build) (arm64)
- 136.0.7103.93 (Official Build) (arm64)
Confirmed this is not an issue for Version 135.0.7049.115 (Official Build) (arm64)
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Jira in Google Chrome (Version 136.0.7103.93 or similar).
- Navigate to the custom field configuration page.
- Attempt to edit the context to add or modify issue types.
- Observe the inability to select or modify issue types.
Here is a screen recording demonstrating the issue:
Expected Results
Users should be able to select and modify issue types for the custom field context without any issues.
Actual Results
Users are unable to select or modify issue types for the custom field context in Google Chrome. The issue appears to be related to in-browser selection, possibly due to JavaScript handling, without any network calls being made.
Workaround
Use an alternative browser to edit the issue type context for custom fields successfully.
Switching to the "Dark Mode" theme in Jira still does not render the background color shift but has a more dramatic text color shift that allows increased visibility to the selected items in the context
