Use filter columns by default whenever the filter is used on the search

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

Using the new issue search, whenever a saved filter is updated and the page is refreshed, the columns switch to "My Defaults" rather than retaining the specific filter's column settings. This behavior did not happen on the old issue search.

Besides happening when refreshing the page, this may also occur when duplicating the page and sometimes when clicking the back button to navigate back to a filter view, despite both the URL and the filter title indicating the user is still on a filter view.

The same behavior also affects the printable mode and other exports, likely because whenever there's anything other than simply the filter ID on the URL, the process defaults to using "My defaults" instead of the Filter columns.

The suggestion would be that whenever the filter page is used, regardless of whether the filter is updated or not, the view and any exports use the columns displayed by default.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Open a saved filter in Jira and observe the columns configured for that filter.
      2. Make a few changes in the filter and refresh the page.
      3. Observe that the displayed columns are now showing the "My Defaults"
      4. Click on the table settings and observe that it also shows "My Defaults" tab is selected.
      5. Click on the "Filter" tab within the settings and notice that the correct columns/fields are now displayed

      Expected Results/Suggestion

Whenever a filter is used, the page should retain the column settings specific to the saved filter.

      Actual Results

The filter page displays columns set in "My Defaults" instead of the specific filter's columns. The table column settings default to "My Defaults," requiring manual re-selection of the "Filter" tab to restore the correct columns.

      Workaround

      • To restore the correct column view, manually open the table column settings and switch from "My Defaults" to the "Filter" tab; or
      • While the old issue search is available, click on the three dots at the top right to Go back to the old issue search:
