Context
In Jira, sub-tasks automatically inherit the security level of their parent issue. This means that you cannot set a separate security level directly on a sub-task. This behaviour is by design, as sub-tasks are intended to be closely tied to their parent issues.
Suggested Improvement
To address this, the UI could include a warning message when users attempt to set a security level on sub-tasks. The message could state:
- Setting a security level on sub-tasks is not supported. Sub-tasks inherit the security level of their parent issue. Please set the security level on the parent issue instead.
