Issue Summary
If a custom field has multiple contexts, and the different contexts have the options with the same name.
When we add this custom field to the Plan, and Group by using this custom field, we could see multiple folders with the same name.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a select custom field
- Create two different contexts once for each project
- Under each of the context, add the options with the same name
- Create a plan, include the issue from both projects
- create a few issues in both projects with the same option selection.
- Add the custom field to the plan
- Group the issue using this custom field, we will see two folders with the same name:
Expected Results
If we use a JQL with the custom field search, we get both issues in the same search :
Similar to the above, we expect to see one folder.
Actual Results
We see multiple folders with the same name, one for the options under each context:
Workaround
There is no workaround available at this time.
Hi,
This is very confusing for business stakeholders and leads to problems understanding the bigger picture of whole structure.
Issues that should belong to one group only are divided to few groups which suggests that there is some difference between them, where in fact there is none.
