Problem
In the issue view of an Epic type when selecting Create Issue in Epic the InLine issue create does not respect the issue hierarchy.
Expected result:
Epic children should be Story types;
Actual result:
There is no rhyme or reason behind Jira selection of the issue type for InLine issue creation within Epic issue types;
If Advanced Roadmaps is setup the default issue type that shows up is Initiative, which as per the hierarchy should be above an Epic instead.
Things observed:
- After changing the issue type to the desired one the plus icon
adds a new line with the previously used type;
- If the issue page is refreshed it reverts back to a random issue type as opposed to the last used one.
- In the following example we can see it is defaulting to Task whereas we are expecting Story:
- If there is an Initiative custom issue type configured due to Advanced Roadmaps setup, then the
within Epic view defaults to this issue type as opposed to Story.
Shows all Issue Types including Issue Types above the Epic in the Issue Hierarchy. Those issue types are not child issues of the Epic.
Workaround:
When the issue type selector is open, type the name of the desired issue type to filter the list of issue types.
