As a Jira Software user I would like to add any Issue types to the Roadmap

Currently, on the next-gen software project, only Epic Issue types can be added to the Roadmap features as mentioned here https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/roadmap-957979308.html

However, I would like to be able to add any Issue type be it "Task", "Sub-task", "Bug" etc to the Roadmap, once linked to an Epic, so the other Issue type will be shown just the way the Epic shows.

I see that this is a duplicate... but the duplicate references this one. Was this work ever completed? I found conflicting answers online. I would like to see Stories on the roadmap that do not have a parent epic. Is this possible?

My project has no EPIC. It has just tasks. I would like to see roadmap with tasks. However, it seems not able to do so.

From my past experience, Atlassian ignore comments on closed issues; I've opened this( https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/JSWCLOUD/issues/JSWCLOUD-23236 ) to try and get this opened again or otherwise get traction.

@Pete Morris, @Rhys Christian: This ticket is incorrectly closed as a duplicate, could you please reopen it?

@Pete Morris   This is closed as a duplicate, but the two linked duplicates 18668 doesn't relate to this at all and 18137 is a duplicate of this, but was closed for being a duplicate of this. Please reopen this task; it's causing so much headache for several departments. This is an absolutely essential feature and can't be lost.

            Thanks,

            Alex

@Rhys Christian : As you closed this ticket as a duplicate of JSWCLOUD-18668 I was wondering if this is really correct.
The other issue describes the showing of children date ranges but does not mention the request of allowing all issue types (and not only epics) to be added to the roadmap. But that is what the issue here is about.

Would it make sense to reopen this again? Thanks for your consideration.

Why does the documentation show issue types that I can't configure to show?
