Issue Summary
- Memory consumption of Jira on Firefox browser is going high which makes Jira laggy
Steps to Reproduce
- While trying to make use of the text editor, Jira is laggy on Firefox
Expected Results
- Jira should run smoothly on the Firefox browser
Actual Results
- After using Jira on Firefox for some time it gets slow and laggy
Workaround
Pre requisites: as a workaround, there are multiple options to help avoid this problem. The options will be listed below.
Steps :
- It is recommended that if a user needs to view multiple issues quickly, the user can opt to use the NIN (New Issue Navigator) or List View option in Jira Projects.
- You may create issue filters or use Basic filters or JQL in the Issue Navigator to list multiple issues on a single page. And open one issue at a time from the Issue Navigator.
- In Board view, click on "View Settings" and select the option "Open issues in sidebar", so that all the issues from the Board can be opened in the same tab
- Similarly, in Backlog View, enable the "Epic Panel" or "Version Panel" under "View Settings" so that more issues can be loaded in the same tab, and in Backlog View, by default, issues are opened in the sidebar.
- Users can also leverage the Jira List View, and from here, they can directly update the fields in multiple issues without opening those issues in another tab. Also, in this view, clicking on any issue will open that issue in the sidebar of the same tab.
