      Problem Definition

Currently, it's not possible to adjust the order of issue types in a team-managed project. Consequently, we have no control over the types under the drop-down menu when creating issues.

      Suggested Solution

As a team-managed (formerly next-gen) user, I want to be able to define a default issue type in the project's settings to make sure all users will have the same issue type selected as well as drag and drop the available types so they are consistently presented in the same order as defined under settings when using the issue type drop-down menu.

This functionality is sorely needed. The order of the issue types in the dropdown list aids in usability. This is especially important in team managed teams where more non-IT users like project managers are adding and updating tickets.

It seems a detail, but it's important: When creating a task, being able to pre-define the issue type and the order of the issue types in the dropdown menu is an important requirement. Please pay attention to this matter. Thanks.

I have found that in company-managed projects, it seems that the order the issue types appear on the Create issue screen is defined by how the issue types are ordered in the "Edit Issue Types" configuration.

Project Settings > Issues > Types > Actions > Edit Issue Types.  Then on this page you can add, remove, or reorder the issue types. The order that they appear in these settings should be the same as they appear on the Create Issue screen.

+1 it would make sense to be able to set the order.

+1. Currently the pre-set order doesn't make it easy for my team to select tasks chronologically for our projects. Being able to define the order would make it easier to find the issue type and streamline ticket creation.
