      With the new notifications hub, there are no options to control whether the user wants to receive notifications for when the issue is transitioned, and it's enabled by default, increasing the number of notifications for users that, for example, are default reporters of issues or other similar situations.

      It would be good to have an option to disable the issue transition notifications, so the users have more control of what they receive in their inbox.

            Like others, I am a Product Lead meaning me and my team raise hundreds of issues and my inbox is being absolutely flooded. I appreciate I can set up a filter but that makes me nervous of missing something else from Jira if I don't quite get the configuration right! Please sort this urgently.

            I am the reporter of more than 5000 issues for various teams and now I get flooded with notification anytime they are changing issue status. Our POs, Scrum Masters and Agile Team members are all receiving notification about issues anytime there is a  status change for issues they have either created or imported. Now in as much as there maybe cases where reporters want to receive notification when issue changes status, this is not the case for majority. So based on what use cases was this implemented or left out of the testing phase of the notification changes. This bug should not be waiting for interest gathering before fixing it. It is bringing headache for Jira admins as users keep complaining about this frustration the notification is causing. I hope this issue get addressed as soon as possible.

            Please address this bug as a priority. Inbox full of unwanted emails for irrelevant notifications. Please fix asap. It has been going for over two weeks now -

            As a PM/and Jira admin at my company, I have bulk-imported thousands of issues for multiple project teams.  Currently there are 1500+ not-done issues where I am the reporter, but otherwise don't want or need notifications.  With this current bug, and because issues transition through at least 2-3 steps if not more before they are done, I can look forward to at least 5000 unwanted email notifications for those issues. 

            I'm sure there are numerous admin-like users at other companies in the same boat.  The priority on this bug should be raised.

            Just adding my comment here as well to see if this can be prioritized. Hundreds of emails are being sent to individuals emails a day that don't need to be notified (causing unnecessary noise). I think it would be better to just not have those emails send at all by default until it's handled in a way that it can be toggled on/off.

            This needs to be addressed with more urgency. I have a large amount of users who have been experiencing this and turning off all notifications is not an option that should be the only fix for an 'upgraded feature'

            Overnight, I just found my inbox full of these annoying emails. What's the point in enabling a Notification Center feature where you can set your preferences, but leaving the most frequent action out of the options, so much so that I'm receiving so many emails I just disabled them all ?

            Hope it gets fixed, because as of now it's a bug to me

            This is a terrible implementation of notification features. This is a bug that needs to be addressed as a priority. It impacts our entire business, filling our inboxes with unnecessary notifications. The only way around this is to turn off all notifications, which renders JIRA useless. Please fix.

            Yes please. See the comments in the linked article - they're all negative! I had to change my notification settings manually to get them close to how they were before, and I'm still getting unwanted notifications about status changes.
