    Description

      Atlassian Update - 15 April, 2024

After some analysis, we've found that this issue has been duplicated by the issue at JRACLOUD-83453: Newly created child issue not visible without page refresh when created using a popup screen. This is a current and verified bug in Jira Cloud, please watch that issue for further updates and more detailed workarounds.

       Issue Summary

Currently, if you quick create (via the "+" button underneath an issue's description) a child issue for either a story/task level issue, the child issue gets created and is immediately appended to the list of child issues within the detailed issue view of the parent issue. You are able to create another child issue as needed without needing to refresh.

However, if you create a child issue on an Epic level issue via the same method ("" button again), the child issue does not immediately appear within the list of child issues, and you need to refresh the page before it does. If you need to create multiple child issues, you have to refresh after each one is created before being able to make another, as the cursor remains within the summary of the quick create and does not allow you to hit the "" button a second time.

This is reproducible on Data Center: (yes) / (no)

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create an Epic within a Team Managed project
      2. Create a child issue in that Epic's detailed issue view by clicking on the "+" button below the description.
      3. Once the child issue is created (the pop up prompt appears telling you it's created), attempt to click on the "+" again to create another. Observe that nothing happens and the child issue just created does not appear within the list of child issues in that Epic until you refresh the page.

To observe what should happen, repeat this same process, but using a story/task level issue as the parent instead.

      Expected Results

User should be able to create multiple child issues under an Epic via quick create without needing to refresh.

      Actual Results

User needs to refresh after every child issue is created before being able to use the "+" button again.

      Workaround

The only current work around is to refresh the page to be able to utilize the quick create button again.
