Summary
Currently, if the mail handler fails for any reason and the messages stop being processed, the admins are not notified about it and the non-processed messages are stuck in the mailbox until the admin manually checks them.
Suggestion
Jira should have a way to notify the admins when the mail handler stops processing messages.
Workaround
Currently, the admins need to verify manually the mailbox configured inside the mail handler or test the mail handler to identify that this is no longer authenticated or showing an error.
