We recently made changes to how linked issues are created in Jira Software and Jira Service Management.
Now, Linked Issue field should be part of the Create Screen of Issue Type or Request Type Form to effectively utilize the create linked issue trigger point from issue view.
In legacy, whenever create linked issue trigger point was utilized, the Linked Issue field would pops up even if the Linked Issue field was not part of the concerned Create Screen.
Now, a Warning message pops up for customers when they not have the Linked Issue field as part of their Create Screen (Jira Software) and/or Request Type Form (Jira Service Management):
The Linked issues field is hidden or not available
Creating this issue won’t link it to another issue. To link this issue, go to ··· > Show fields and check the Linked issues field. If the field isn’t there, contact your admin to ensure it’s available on this screen.
It would be nice to improve our warning message with steps to fix the generic message as the go to ··· > Show fields and check the Linked issues field is not really helpful for admins.
