Issue Summary
Translation of custom field labels works correctly on a language change, but custom field descriptions do not use the provided translation automatically.
This results in the issue showing a custom field with a translated label, but the original (untranslated) description.
This occurs in both issue create and issue view screens
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new custom field - Label: 'AAA - English' Description: 'description set in field creation'
- Add the custom field to the required screens
- Add a translation for the custom field - Dutch - Label: 'AAA - Nederlands' Description: 'beschrijving ingesteld bij het maken van velden'
- Change your atlassian account preferences language to the language with the translation (Dutch)
- View or create an issue with the custom field
Expected Results
The label and description should use the translation
Actual Results
The label uses the translation but the description uses the original English description
It appears that the field configuration uses the description from the custom field, but it is not updated when the language is changed.
Nowhere in the documentation does it mention that the field configuration also needs to be edited for the translated description to be displayed:

Workaround
Update 6 March 2024: Several users have states in the comment that this workaround does not work for them:
Once the Atlassian account language has been changed, edit the field configuration and remove the description from the field configuration for the field.
