Currently, Quick Search is only searching for Description and Summary as per documentation Find recent issues whereas the advanced search can search in all text fields (including comments).

It would be great to have the Quick search to also look into all text fields in the same way as text searches work in the Advanced search.

[JRACLOUD-78259] Allow Quick search to show the same result as Advanced search

A quick iterative improvement is to change the messaging when no search results are found in Quick Search.... instead of "We couldn't find anything matching your search...." say something to the tune of:

"That term was not found in the Summary or Description of any issues... hit 'enter' to search through more text fields."

And then even if results are returned, next to "ISSUES" add (term found in Summary/Description).

This makes it more clear to users what was searched and that they may want to use advanced search to match their term to more text fields.

This search feature limitation is both annoying and a waste of time. The purpose of a keyword search is to do a search of the information. There are filter options on the side, so if there were a limitation in the search, it should be defined by these filters. There is no other indication that this search is limited. Please implement this fix to search in all fields and comments only filtering by the specific filters applied.

This is really annoying. Did this change or have I been not finding issues for >15 years?

This would be an improvement in efficiency + correct assumptions for people working with Jira.

Currently, the quick search is indeed quicker, but naturally, you would expect it to perform a full-text search too.
