Issue Summary

Custom field of type 'People' (Select single user) in Team-managed Projects does not search for users in Basic search.

Steps to Reproduce

Step 1: Create a Custom field of type 'People' in a Team-managed Project. Assign it to an issue type.

Assuming there are issues created within this project and the newly created field has various users selected in it.
Step 2: Search (Basic Search) for the Issues within the project, Add the filter for the 'People' field. Now search for the users within this field.

Expected Results

Typing the user name should display the user's account in the suggestion.

Actual Results

The Basic search does not display any suggestions for the users. However, when the search is switched to JQL, the users can be easily searched for and the issues that have these users in the 'People' field will be returned in results.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
