Issue Summary
When trying to rename the 1st tab in the new issue view it will not update and "General" will remain.
If you change to the old issue view it will display the updated name.
Steps to Reproduce
- Access the screens and rename the first tab to "Test"
- Go to the issue view and the first tab will continue displaying "General".
Expected Results
The first tab should now be named "Test" like in the old issue view.
Actual Results
The first tab still displays "General"
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
Update: possible scenario
If the first tab of your screen does not contain any fields that would be displayed under the Description fields area (central area below the Summary) it will disappear as an option from the tabs since empty tabs are not displayed. As a consequence the next tab (e.g. the second tab) will become the first one and due to this bug will be displayed as General.

The fix for this bug enhances the functionality of the issue screen’s first tab display. Previously, the first tab was named “General” in the issue view while being referred to as “Field Tab” in the admin interface. Any changes to the name of the tab weren’t being reflected on the issue view.
With this update, we’ve ensured that the tab will display its updated name. To minimise disruption for those customers who have not yet modified the name of the first tab, its default display will remain as “General” until any changes are made.
For customers who have already made modifications to the first tab, the updated name will now be accurately reflected.
If the name of your first tab doesn’t appear as expected, you now have the ability to update it via the screens section in the Jira admin interface.
