As a user, it would be great to have better granularity for the Delete Issues permission, for example, set that permission based on a specific Issue type.

      Example:

      • User A has permission to delete Stories
      • User B has permission to delete Bugs and Tasks

[JRACLOUD-74994] Delete Issues permission based on Issue type

My team would like to have this implemented!

This feature would be helpful for my users. We need to be able to give users permission to delete certain issue types within a project but not others.

IMHO various roles need to keep the backlog clean, even if that means deleting tasks/sub-tasks for absent others, while requirements Epics/Stories remain protected.

We also really need this feature to allow our test team to delete their tests on their own, but no other issue type.

I would like to know if atlassian has a forecast to implement this feature. Giving users or groups permission to delete a certain type of item would be extremely important.

This would be very a very useful feature.

In our scenario we have a business project which has Leads and Tasks.

The Tasks are created by any user and can be allocated like a to do list. The Leads are what the Commercial team would progress over the lifespan of a new sale.

Ideally, any user should be able to delete the Tasks they have created for themselves, but only an admin for the project should be able to delete the Lead. How it stands with the permission scheme, it's either all or nothing. I.e. give an average user full delete capacity (NO!) or no deletion permissions at all which means the admins must delete a users tasks. If we could allow deletion within a permission scheme based on the type of issue, that would be ideal.

            Regards

This would be a very handy setting, as we can grant people the ability to delete Tasks, but not Stories or Epics.
