Issue Summary
Idling after uploading Image will prevent saving the comment due to timeout/stale session issue. This is not restricted to comments and can occur on other fields that accept attachments.
The error message is wrong and confusing.
We couldn't save your comment
It might be empty, too long, or have invalid
formatting. If you copy-pasted, try removing the
formatting and adding it directly in the editor.
Steps to Reproduce
- Upload file Image in the comment section of New Issue View
- Leave the tab open for a while
Expected Results
Able to continue and save the comment
Actual Results
the page will eventually stop letting you upload things (images and video) and when you click to save it doesn't let you save, but keeps it in draft.
Signs that this occurs: If the uploaded image/video flashes gray for half a second with a "retry" button on bottom-left corner - and then shows the preview - that means the time has come, and you won't be able to save that comment.
The video and image get uploaded broken - they show up in preview, but aren't actually uploaded - and show broken when you click on them to view fully.
Workaround
To fix this, just copy-paste URL to a new tab, reupload and save.
