Create a place on the kanban board to make policies explicit

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

One of the principles of Kanban is 'Make policies explicit', part of that is to communicate to everyone when a card is allowed to enter an exit a lane.

In Jira we have no way to do this now.

I did a workaround/hack by creating a swimlane called "Rules for this Lane" and making a ticket for each column that is caught in the query of the swimlane. I used the summary field to spell out the rules.

My request is to have a field that I can write rules into called Policy for each configured column that will somehow be displayed on the board, whether by icon when hovered over or directly or a choice of both.
