Custom user picker field changes are not updated under specific conditions

      Issue Summary

      If you remove a user from a custom user picker field with the backspace key, the removal will not be registered.

      Steps to Reproduce

      p/s Open in new tab is video is too hard too see.

      Expected Results

      The user picker field changes are applied.

      Actual Results

      The user picker field changes are not applied.

      Workaround

      If you specify a different user with "@UserNameHere" then clear it the edit (cleared field) does get saved.
