This is Irene from the Jira Notifications team.
We're pleased to let you know that we’re making changes so that emails with a customized Email from value will now support batching.
This work is in progress. We will give another update when we are ready to roll it out.

Problem definition
Batching notifications or Notification Platform (NP) in Jira does not support customised "Email from" in General configuration page. If "Email from" is not "${fullname} (Jira)" (default setting) batching notifications does not work.
Suggested resolution
Implement the support of customised "Email from" for batching notifications in Jira
Note:
Additionally, the notifications are not batched if users are using "custom from domains" (e.g. they use jira@mydomain.com
instead of the default "@sitename.atlassian.net" under Project settings > Notifications) configured on their instance.
