Atlassian Update - 25 May 2020

      Hi everyone,

Work is now underway to bring an attachments list view to Jira. The list view of attachments will be useful when browsing Jira issues with many attachments and we believe will alleviate the problems experienced navigating attachments with the "<" and ">" buttons.

      Kind regards,

      Atlassian

Currently, we have to click on a ">" and "<" to check attachments when there are more than 4-5 files on a ticket.
It would be great if we have an option to expand and collapse the field and show/hide all attachments.

[JRACLOUD-70129] Ability to expand Attachments field in the new issue view

How do we change the default maximum amount in this list-view.

It is only set to 5 which is very cumbersome, not to mention when you go into preview, and attempt to navigate with right/left keys it stops on each pages last item. (appearing to be broken)

            Hi everyone,

We have now released the attachments list view to the new issue view. Switching to the list view will allow you to see an expanded view of attachments, overcoming the the requirement to navigate with the "<" and ">" buttons. Please give the list view a try and let me know if you have any feedback.

We're excited about this too c7afa4c20447! List view will first land in Jira Service Desk and later in Jira Software. You'll find more details on the ticket specifically for list view: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-70146

            Kind regards,

Very excited to learn that this feature is coming. Really missing the old attachment view.

I certainly agree with all the comments mentioned above. The new way attachments are displayed/outlined within the ticket is highly cumbersome. The new view + the old way of displaying attachments would have been completely acceptable.

I agree with the previous comment - handling of attachments is much worse in the new view. I don't really understand why these features (list view and sorting) were removed. That really impacts productivity of our users.

Also, the idea of showing thumbnails of attachments inside texts (comments, descriptions, etc.) does not really work very well because it causes really ugly rendering behavior - it is slow and erratic. Users have to wait until everything is rendered and only then act, which takes noticeable time. Otherwise they hit wrong buttons, because controls change their positions during rendering.

In our job we depend on the attachments given in detail (full name + uploaddate), therefor we now have to switch to the old view all the time.

It will also be good to keep the feature from old view where you can see the "Detailed View" specially the time.

Yes, a list view would be very good. We use that the whole time in the old view. In the new view we can't even see the whole name of the attachment.
