Problem Definition
Currently, the new Pages feature is only supported when Confluence and Jira are on the same Cloud instance.
Suggested Solution
Improve the feature so that it is usable when connecting a Confluence-only Cloud instance to a Jira-only Cloud instance, or allow connecting with Confluence on a separate instance (via Application Link)
Why this is important
- Users may have hosted Jira and Confluence on a different site
- Users may have Confluence on multiple sites and would like to work on 1 project
Workaround
We understand these options do not replace the solution, however as a workaround, it's possible to link Confluence pages through Link issue > Link Confluence page once the Application Links are correctly set, adding the link to the page:
A different option might be to use the Shortcut link feature on the project for users to easily access an external Confluence page from the Project, as mentioned on this page - video of the process: Shortcuts Link.mov
