Description
Hi everyone,
We believe that we have addressed any outstanding problems with comment notifications for the official Jira Cloud app for Slack.
We are aware that there are some cases where customers are not receiving comment notifications and still using the legacy Jira Server Alerts app. This app is maintained by Slack and is intended for use with Jira Server. We have notified Slack of this issue with comment notifications for customers using this app with Jira Cloud and will collaborate with them to ensure it is updated. However, the fastest (and recommended) way to address the issue is to install the official Jira Cloud app for Slack, as a replacement.

Summary
When a comment is made on a JIRA issue, the Jira Cloud for Slack (Official) integration isn't generating a new notification on Slack channels.
Steps to Reproduce
- Connect a project to a Slack channel
- On the section Send a message to the channel when, mark the Someone leaves a comment checkbox:
- Leave a comment on any JIRA issue registered on the connected project
Expected Results
A new notification should show up on the Slack channel:
Actual Results
Slack will not receive any notification regarding the comment being registered on the JIRA issue.
Notes
When inspecting the JSON payload that is sent when a comment is made (using the Connect inspector), the comment body is registered on the comment_created and jira:issue_updated events correctly.
