    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

When a permission scheme is setup to archive projects, which has no permissions granted to it, the archived projects are still visible by Jira administrators on the secure/BrowseProjects.jspa page, whereas in the old Jira experience they were only visible by Jira administrators on the admin section of projects, secure/project/ViewProjects.jspa.

This suggestion request is to add the ability to hide these projects from the secure/BrowseProjects.jspa even from Jira administrators since these projects are already available at the administrative section, secure/project/ViewProjects.jspa.

[JRACLOUD-68228] Hide archived projects even from Jira administrators on the BrowseProjects section

I believe the current behaviour now meets the requirements of this feature request, though some of the URLs have changed:

            • Archived projects do not appear on the View all projects page: <your site name>.atlassian.net/jira/projects
            • Admins can view archived projects on <your site name>.atlassian.net/jira/settings/projects/archive

+1 - the Jira Suite is such a great package. Time for a simple way to mark projects as closed and make the suite that much better. Being able to remove completed projects from the 'All projects' list will be so awesome, improving the user experience especially for folks who are new to the platform. Adoption can only improve as a result

+1. In the absence of a simple archiving function for Cloud, the permissions workaround was the only other option to have a cleaned up projects page. We're an agency and I hate logging in as an admin and having to wade through a huge list of projects every time to get to the 3 projects that are currently active. Please change this, or add an archiving function like every other platform has.

+1 Would be nice to have these hidden by default with an option to show them when viewing the full project list.

+1 for this again. Just went through the tedious process of perm archive according to publicly available Jira documentation only to find that it was useless. Really the only reason I went through the trouble was to remove the projects from the project list.

Another vote - Archiving of projects is currently pointless... without some sort of ability to actually remove it from all users views.

I'd even opt for an 'annoying' having to add myself (As an admin) back into a role to view these projects, as 99.99% of the time, I don't want to see them during day to day usage.

+1 for this. As Admin and user with lots of old projects, this makes day to day usage more difficult without the proper ability to archive.

Another vote. This is basic Admin functionality that should work.

I tried hiding it today and its still an issue. I like Jira but might have to look into another system because this is really an issue with how many projects we have going at one time and with them completing I want them off the list.

This is becoming an issue for my organization as well. As a consulting company we start projects regularly and the project list gets cluttered with completed projects quickly. We don't want to entirely delete them because customers will often come back a year later requesting changes and having the old issues as context is very valuable.

Agreed.  Is this anywhere on the road map?  Our company is growing and project count increasing at a rapid pace.  My ability to push back on converting our scrum management software to Salesforce Agile Accelerator will decay as this ticket ages.

This has been a pain-point for our company as well. I hope this issue moves up in priority.

Seconded. We have a lot of projects now in our instance and we need a way to keep it tidy for our staff

Are there plans in place to address this at some point?  It's becoming a larger issue for my company due to the large number of projects we have.  We were able to hide the archived projects in the older version of JIRA.
