Labs features let us experiment with new ideas and get real-world feedback to improve on them. They are works in progress, so they can change or break, or may not end up released at all.

[JRACLOUD-67328] Add possibility to disable/enable the JIRA Labs features for all users on the instance and not per user profile

            Hi everyone,

We have released a new feature which will enable Admins to control the communications and rollout of the new issue view to all users. This feature can be accessed through settings > issues > new issue view transition. Here you will see two toggles to:

            1. Delay new issue view reminders
            2. Move all users to the new issue view (or back to the old view)

Looks like the majority of the user base hate the new layout of this 'Jira Labs' feature. The view once you disable Jira Labs is what everyone is used to/ familiar with and works really well. We as customers are not looking for a new layout screen so please enable an option to disable this view globally across all users. Having to disable per user is a nightmare.

This is the worst feature and really wasted lots of my time too

This "feature" has caused me hours when making screen changes and trying to see how other users are able to view them. I have go try to get all my users to disable the beta feature because, frankly, it is TERRIBLE as not all fields show up, the groupings of tab fields make it very confusing and it forces agents to have to hunt for required fields if they are hidden with this beta view. Why anyone would have put this as a default opt-in is beyond me. I have never heard of any company forcing that out of the gate.  PLEASE FIX THIS SO I CAN DISABLE THE BETA OPT-IN FOR ALL MY USERS AS AN ADMINISTRATOR. How hard is that do?  I thought you all supposed to be an Agile Development company? 3 years?  You all practicing Agile-Fall methods?

This is breaking even basic formatting like tables for users resulting in incorrect implementation of tasks. Very frustrating.

More egregious is beta features that only appear in some instances of the UI, and which vary based on how the user reached a ticket/page. It is a bit astounding.

Shocked there is still no solution here. What kind of company turns on beta features for users by default?

Why can an admin not disable this across the board?

Generally beta features should be for admins or pilot/test user base only, not for all users of an organization.

I've never seen enterprise software that will automatically opt-in a user to beta features.

            Exactly!

What is typical of Atlassian is not a typical for other companies.

For example, they will introduce a "great new" editor for Confluence, where tables work very badly, but I can't turn it off. I have just unlucky ...

This stupid behavior, on the other hand, spoils the Atlassian user experience

@Millicent Dikotope:  That's exactly where I am with this.

I guess what really bugs me about this, is that there's no way for the admin to change this setting for a user.

Admins do have a "Log in as user" feature available to them.  However (as far as I am able to tell) admins can not change this setting for their users.  The "Jira labs" (beta-opt in toggle) is under the "personal settings" page.  Admins can't touch that page (last I checked).

We've been complaining about this for two years and five months, and there's been nothing done about it.  I wouldn't be bothered by the lapse of time, if this were some huge product feature we were clamoring for.  But it isn't.  This sounds like a relatively trivial feature to add.

It's mind boggling, because I've never seen enterprise software that will automatically opt-in a user to beta features.

This new issue view is slow and frustrating for users. We would prefer to disable this for all our users instead of having to send out numerous mails explaining how to get it done on the users end.
