Summary
It's not possible to create a JIRA issue through the mail handler if the email sender references a deleted JIRA user.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a user in JIRA.
- Delete the user.
- Use a JIRA mail handler (with default reporter) that creates issues in Projects and send an email using the deleted user email account.
Expected results:
JIRA should create the issue and use the default reporter as the issue reporter
Actual results:
JIRA does not create the email and replies the sender with the following message:
"Cannot create issue due to invalid license: [Sorry, you can't create any issues right now, as you need to have access to a JIRA application to be able to create issues. To gain application access you need to be a member of a group assigned to an application.]"
Environment
Identified on JIRA Cloud.
Workaround:
Recreate the user with the same credentials as before. Change the user email and delete it afterwards.
