      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      At the moment, it is possible to preview images and pdf attachments in JIRA. However, it is not possible for Word and Excel documents.

      If the business requirement requires MS Office documents attached to issues often, and these documents contain useful / further information to be read by staff when acting on an issue, I believe preview for MS OFfice documents would be great. If these files are viewed multiple times, they're being downloaded multiple times and will fill up the downloads folders. It's not stopping user from working, but it might have an impact on user morale/happiness/frustration.
