Summary
The attachment button is not available when commenting in the same transition where attachment is uploaded to the issue.
Environment
JIRA 7.0.0-OD-08-005
Steps to Reproduce
- Edit a screen to have attachment field and comment field
- Associate the screen with a workflow
- Transition the issue to the point where it will use the screen
- Add an attachment and upon commenting the attachment button is not available to be selected
Expected Results
The attachment button is available and can be selected
Actual Results
No attachment button is available
Notes
The attachment button in comments will be available if there are existing attachments in the issue before the transition.
Workaround
- Add attachment first, then in another screen add comment with embedded attachment.
- Drag and drop attachments to the comment field (the attachment will be uploaded and embedded into the comment)

[JRACLOUD-46035] Attachment button to embed attachment not available when commenting
It's very annoying to add attachment using Attachment field and wiki macro! (e.g. if your screen contains another fields before comment, if you use drag and drop, your attachment will be in attachment field, but not in comment, and you have to use wiki macro to insert attachment in comment field). Need to fix!

This functionality will be useful for our implementation purposes. Looking for a fix here as well. Thanks.

I guess this bug won't be fixed anytime soon considering it was surveyed 6 years ago, but I try it anyway..
If you could fix the 'Attachment' section not only in the comment section but also in the multi-line text field with Wiki Style Renderer, it would be so much help!
This is the only way I can found on Cloud to manage files into specific fields without throw all them in the 'Attachment' field in a confused and no organized way.
Anyway, it shouldn't be difficult to fix this bug, considering that the problem exists only during the transition screens, while in the ticket creation transition the bug doesn't exist (if you add the 'Attachment' field in the CREATE screen, of course) ! Just copy the same logic in there and voilà.

shouldn't you re-open this ticket after all those comments?
The functionality was really helpful on the on-premises Jira and I would like to request it to be implemented on the Cloud version.
