This issue isn't fixed, customer notifications template shows the image during the preview as expected. When we enable the notifications the images are not shown. I have raise multiple tickets with Jira

this definitely is not fixed still. I looked at an email Nov 13, 2020, and it's still a broken image

For whatever reason, if you go try to view the image in the browser, the image is downloaded instead of being served up as an image. In this case, this was a png. I checked a github email and the image shows fine in the client (gmail) and when I go to the image in the browser, it shows up fine as well.

            edit:

lol...i can't even upload my own image to show what I'm seeing in my email client. it just ends up showing as this "broken image" icon instead smh.

2020 and I still receive emails from Jira Cloud where the image isn't shown properly. Is this really fixed? If so, what is the image size limit? Can it be set dynamically?

Thanks! I left the size limit vague intentionally, as I plan to tinker with it a bit. I set it to 100kB for now, which already covers a good deal of image attachments as many of those are thumbnails. We can add multiple attachments to a single notification, and we need to be mindful of customers with different mail server setups.

We haven't yet defined the server version which will include this fix. We'll be updating the server version of the bug with the details later.

@Sami Jaatinen, that is great news! What is the definition of small, under 1 MB? under 5 MB?

Also, what standalone server version will include this change?

We are now bundling small images as inline attachments in email notifications.

any help on this? Can it be fixed in any other way?
This is just not very helpful for our service desk users?

Do we have any update on this, can any of us offer our time to fix this ourself?

@Oswaldo Hernandez et al, please move on this.  We are also affected by this bug.  Email notifications are used every day within our organisation and the fact that this basic functionality remains overlooked is very unprofessional.

There is a feature request for embedding non-image attachments in the mail-notifications aswell for service Desk.
            Please vote on JSD-3575
