      Background

      • URLs entered as description for custom fields are automatically converted into clickable hyperlinks
      • In addition, these description fields support wiki-markup (e.g. also to included clickable links)
      • Entering a hyperlink in the description of a Component, however, simply renders as text

      Expected Outcome

      • Hyperlinks used in Components' description fields should automatically render into clickable links

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Browse to your project
      2. Create a new component
      3. Enter a description text including a valid hyperlink
      4. Switch to the "Component Summary Panel"
      5. The text is rendered yet the hyperlink is not clickable

      Use Case
For one of our clients, several component leads want to refer to their Confluence spaces where additional information and various resources related to their component is documented. It would be an improvement to the usability, if users could directly jump to the space by simply clicking on the hyper link. Currently, the URL must be copied and pasted into the browser's address field.
