NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

It's not possible for the customer to perform a search for any content by user @mention, and it would be great to see this feature improvement.
Some customers even suggest that this could be implemented in the form of a tab, or as part of the user's Home, where one could see all content that he was mentioned at.

[JRACLOUD-29412] Ability to search for content by user @mention

            Hi everyone,
I wanted to jump in and share my experience since I've been using the Mentions Dashboard for Jira recently.

I used to rely heavily on JQL to search for my @mentions, which works sometimes, but it often felt a bit tedious when managing multiple projects and teams. With add-on I don’t need to run separate queries or dig through issues to find important comments. Plus, I can quickly reply to comments right from the dashboard without having to navigate into each issue.

            Best, Isa

I believe this issue is a duplicate of JRACLOUD-27594 – JQL search for @mentions which has more votes.

I recommend that watchers of this issue vote on and watch the above issue. So that votes aren't split, I believe this ticket should be closed, but I will wait a week before taking any action in case anyone disagrees. Thank you!

In our Confluence we use a lot the "user mentions" functionality in comments to ease the collaborative writings between teammates. Unfortunately there is no way to have a recap of the comments where an user is mentioned, to quickly see what is left to do.

I created a page for every user with the "Search Result Macro" (https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/search-results-macro-139511.html\) showing all comments where the user is mentioned. Unfortunately it is not possible to filter out the already resolved comments, neither order the comments by creation date.

A recap page automatically managed by Confluence would be really useful.

Would nice to have the ability within the Page Properties Report Macro. There i can filter by keywords. Would be nice to filter by mention.

This functionality would be nice however I also noticed that in 5.4 I can't search for user's name if I want content with @mentions to be returned (at mentions seemed to be indexed by USERNAME and not by the USER'S NAME). See: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-32640

Any updates on this? I've had requests for this ability from people on my team.

Persons that are linked with username also have to be searched using username. For example if we have
            username: someuser
            full name: Some User

and pages containing references someuser then searching for "Some User" will return only pages where this full name is in plain text.

Probably under the hood it works the same way as @Mentions. Searching these incoming links to users would be really useful.
