      Atlassian Update: 17th February 2017

      Hi Everyone,

The issue has been investigated by the development team and we have identified the root cause.

When JIRA Gadgets queries its text resources via browser, JIRA's back-end disrespects any headers that have been set by the client side. In fact the back-end attempts to do an internal call to itself - and that's when the headers are being lost.

In our application design, text resources should be available without authentication, including those for the Gadgets. This works for all cases, except for when all resources – including those text resources – are running behind the proxy which requires authentication.

This issue can be worked around, though. Your instance's proxy settings can be configured to whitelist text resources and load them without authentication from a trusted place. Please refer the linked KB article for more information on how to do this.

We understand that this is an irritating experience on your dashboards. However, we will not be addressing this issue in the near future.

We will keep this issue open for now. Please vote and watch the issue, as we review our open bugs frequently based on customer interest.

      Cheers,
      Ignat
