Enable Flexible and Customizable Backlog Prioritization Frameworks for Epics and Features

      Description:
Currently, Jira Align supports limited prioritization options for epics and features, primarily WSJF and a basic Value tab calculation. Many teams require alternative frameworks (such as RICE: Reach, Impact, Confidence, Effort) or custom models to fit their unique prioritization needs. The lack of flexibility restricts effective backlog management and reduces Jira Align’s usefulness for diverse teams and methodologies.

      Enhancement:

      • Allow users to select from multiple prioritization frameworks (e.g., WSJF, RICE, or custom).
      • Enable custom scoring formulas, letting users select fields, set weights, and define calculations.
      • Support the addition of custom fields for use in prioritization calculations.
      • Ensure the calculated score (from any framework) can be used for backlog ranking and prioritization, either by leveraging the existing WSJF score field or introducing a new generic score field.
      • Provide an intuitive interface for configuring frameworks and calculations, with clear documentation and examples.
      • Maintain support for existing WSJF and Value calculations for teams that prefer those models.
      • Consider migration and compatibility with existing data to avoid disruption.
